The lecture will be given by Guido van Wassenhoven, , author of books on the war events in Wuustwezel and Loenhout in the second world war and the second edition on Wuustwezel in the second war . His first book on war is about Wuustwezel in the first world war. In short, a respected writer and speaker with a lot of knowledge about the war in our region. The lecture is entitled:

It is about the liberation of Wernhout territory in October 1944.
Which in fact began with the liberation of Wuustwezel, because after the British reached the border, they were relieved by Americans and work could be done on a broad front to liberate southern North Brabant. Step by step, it will explain how that liberation took place with emphasis on the fierce fighting that took place from 25 to 27 October 1944 in Wernhoutsburg, Mereltjesstraat, Maalbergen, Maxburg and Wernhoutse Heide to finally reach Achtmaal and Zundert.
